Third Annual Specifiers Roundtable; A Huge Success

    By MikeHelly | The SPEXpert | 0 comment | 20 May, 2019 | 0

Tuesday April 16, 2019 Chapter Meeting

The Third Annual joint Hartford and Housatonic Chapter CSI Specifier’s Roundtable took place on April 16, 2019 before a packed room at Eli’s on Whitney in Hamden, CT. Moderator Ross Spiegel, FCSI, FAIA, CCS, CCCA, LEED AP BD+C with The SLAM Collaborative led panelists Craig Battisto, AIA, LEED AP, CSI with Amenta|Emma Architects, Mark Convertito, CDT, CSI, LEED Green Associate with Perkins Eastman, Traci Hillebrecht, NCARB with Architx, LLC, and, David Newman, RA, CSI, CCS, LEED AP with JCJ Architecture through a series of questions related to the art and science of specifications. In addition to the lively back and forth between the panelists, audience members contributed questions of their own. Unsurprisingly, panelists found that they all faced the same issues even though they worked for different types of firms, projects and clients. Feedback from panelists and attendees was very positive and supportive.

“I enjoyed one of my favorite CSI CT meetings of the year. Great job all.
    Thank you.”

“I’d like to thank you for having me again this year at the roundtable. I think it was another success! I enjoyed the evening and thank you as well for the great meal. It was nice meeting everyone – and seeing Craig again after so many years. It’s reassuring to know that my daily frustrations are shared by all and that perhaps I don’t need to seek out that alternative career path just yet!”

“Thanks for the opportunity to participate in the specifier’s roundtable. It played-out to be an informative experience and interesting to see how other specifiers deal with the positive and negative sides of their jobs. Keep me in mind for next year’s roundtable if that tenor sax gig doesn’t materialize!”

“I enjoyed the format and it was very informative. I came away with a few things to mention to my company, one regarding access to information on our web site.”

We hope to see you at next year’s Roundtable!
Ross Spiegel, FCSI, FAIA, CCS, CCCA, LEED AP BD+C
